Rusty Rider Awards.

 

The Rusty Nuts Motorcycle Club, has a series of badges and patches awarded to riders on completion of events.

Monograms NZ Ltd - RNMC patch makerThe Rusty Nuts Motorcycle Club has all its Patches and Badges made locally in Auckland.
Badgemakers - RNMC BadgemakerRusty Nuts M/c have all their badges made by Badgemakers (formally Theo Meyer Ltd). All Badges are copper backed - with resin cover to ensure long life and bright colours. These guys have made nearly 50 badges for our runs over the years.
True Milliennium Run BadgeThe True Millennnium Run was held New Years Eve, 31st Dec 2000/ 1st Jan 2001. Reviews of the run can be found under Rusty Ride Reviews.
Rakiura Sunset Rally BadgesThere were three Rakiura Sunset Rally's held in 1994, 1997, and 2000. All held on Stewart Island - the southernmost of New Zealands three main islands. They were the Southernmost motorcycle rally's in the world.
Pork Pie Run Badge & FlagsThe Pork Pie Run badge featuring the yellow mini made famous in the great NZ road movie 'Goodbye Pork Pie. The run celbrated the 20th anniversary of the making of the movie. It is not often a 'Car' features on any motorcycle club badge. The background wheel is the wheel featured on the RNMC T Shirt logo.
Club Nite Badge - 2002The first ever Rusty Nuts M/C club nite was held at the New Eagle Hotel in Bluff. Besides the riders who were there for the end of a run around 40 riders rode from the North Island just for the party. It was a great night.Further Runs will use the same badge and different background colour.
Southern Cross Road Rally BadgesThere have been 6 Southern Cross Road Rally's, the same badge is used with different coloured highlights for each year.
RideSafe 350 BadgesThere have been 2 RideSafe 350 mile events to raise money to assist the RideSafe M/C School. The Rusty's provided the manpower to run the event on the day.There was a 3rd badge produced that was sold for a donation to those who could not attend the rides.
Sir Walter Rally BadgesThe Rusty Nuts M/C held 5 Sir Walter Rally's between 1991 and 2000 inclusive. The badge was changed after the first two to enhance the word play on the name.
Grand Challenge Badge & PatchesThe Grand Challenge "Speedo" Badge was based on the GSX400 Suzuki instrument panel - It was to symbolise that all bikes could complete this run not just the latest and greatest. After 18 years there are less than 700 issued. The badge is issued only once on completion of the riders 1st Grand Challenge. There after the approriate numbered patch to the number of events completed by the rider is awarded, along with a date bar for the badge. The links to patch pages are at the bottom of this page.
Easy Rider Run BadgeThe Easy Rider run held to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the great biker movie. Held in 1999, The run ended with a screening of the movie and "USA Food" Hotdogs and Hamburgers.
Challenge and a half badge & PatchThe 1500 mile 36 hour Challenge and a half was run in conjunction with the 15th Anniversary of the Grand Challenge in 2001. The Grand Challenge 1000 mile 24 hour event was completed first then after a compulsory 4 hour break the entrants had the opportunity to complete a further 500 miles in a total time of 36 hours.
Gypsy Tour BadgesThe Rusty Nuts M/C concieved the modern style Gypsy Tours from the old American motorcycle factory runs under the same name. It was decided to make this a series of three only. The badges are different in that they are domed and have no coloured inlay. They are in Bronze 2000, Silver 2002 and the last one in 2004 Gold.
Wild One Badge 1992The Wild One Rally was a one off, less than 100 badges were issued.
USA Tour 2003 PatchThe USA tour was attended by a small group - The patch was produced to commemorate the trip. One was also given to the Tour Leader of the Route 66 Mother Road Rally.
Double Happy Rally badgesThe Double Happy Rallys were held in 1987 and 1988 and were a 2 day affair each time.Covering a good proportion of unsealed roads in the back country the ride consisted of about 1000km the first day and 500km the sedond day.
20th Anniversary Icon Tiki Tour Patch20th Anniversary Icon Tiki Tour memorabilia. The Run Patch, the flags that riders obtained each day to have in their photographs. The T shirt produced for those who wanted them.
