It is with much sadness that the Rusty Nuts M/c record the passing of a 22 year member Vince Rusty. Vince passed away 26 2 2010.
Vince had been one of the longest serving members and was known to hundreds of riders who took part in events that started in Turangi. He was a resident of the Holiday Park.
Besides being a Rusty, Vince was well known and respected as a long serving members of the Search and Rescue in the Turanngi area. In his later years working the coordinators switch board for those in the field. He was in involved in many activites in the town and through these he was known to just about everyone who lives in the town and surrounding area.
He will be sorely missed by the thousands of people he came into contact with, Turangi, and the clubs and organisations was involved with all lost a great bloke. We are all a lot poorer for his passing, but richer for his time with us. RIP.
Vinces family held a celebration of his life at the camp on Saturday April 10 at 2pm.
After the speakera had finished his ashes were taken for a last ride on Lloyds Goldwing with a groupf of bikes and cars following. His ashes will be scattered by family on his favourite place in the bush where he used to sit in the early morning and listen to the dawn chourus of bird song.
