24th Grand Challenge October 2010. Now filling group 5 and 6 it is over half full.
11th Southern Cross Road Rally 2011. The up to date count is 25% FULL. Still spaces but don’t leave it too long – remember if you are a previous RNMC entrant you can put a place on hold until you get holidays and finances sorted out. First timers to RNMC events we need to know you before we accept holds.
Long Weekend Rally there are 24 places on hold so far. Entrants must have completed a previous Grand Challenge. To be held in conjunction with the 25th Grand Challenge. This event cannot be entered separately from the CG. ( I have already been asked)
25th Grand Challenge Late October 2011 has a lot of interest and the first 5 groups are filled with either paid entrants or places on hold. Entry is now open to all.
2nd Icon Tiki Tour it is being formulated for March April 2012. Details to come, this advance notice are just to whet some appetites, and revive some memories. As the 75th event it will have some special features.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi All Rusty Riders,
Hi all hope this finds you all well and still having the shiny side up. I have had the good news that my scruffy old CBX is running again. It has been off the road for 6 years, a long time, but it has had some serious refurbishment in the motor dept and the front end has been completely rebuilt with complete new hard chrome, new rear shocks, the paint job never got done due to money but I don’t mind it scruffy, It will be good to get the sidecar fitted back on and finally get the RNMC1 plate fitted up.
The other bikes are slowly coming on, it is the curse of the biker than when there is money there is no time and vice versa. Working 7 days a week since the Super Tour has been a pain and there seems no end in sight over the next few weeks. Still it is better than not having a job at all in this current climate.
I am still getting emails regarding the Super Tour, and as I predicted I have been asked when the next one is. Not going to happen. Two years planning, heaps of money, not economical to do again.
I remain surprised by the ease the Super Tour men and woman completed the challenge, maybe they were hurting but they wouldn’t give me the satisfaction of seeing how much. Maybe they are just harder than I thought, or maybe just maybe it was too easy.
I will look at designing something a whole lot harder in about 5 year’s maybe.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You may have seen it by now but there is good write up on the Super tour in the latest BRM magazine.
I have all the details from that write up and will put it up on the website but not while the issue is still current in the shops.
The 25th Grand Challenge and the Long Weekend extension are close to half full. It is going to be a good one, and there will be an over subscription.
From the Research and development department...
The proposed Icon Tiki Tour, 2012 is well under way for the organisation we got a good response to our request for icons that we didn’t use on the last one. We have found some others that are little known or a bit more out of the way.
We are sorting these into their categories at the moment and assigning some of them a bonus point value, then we will give them to Brian to work out a projected route. It will take in both NI and SI roads. Overnight stops will be programmed in and riders will be required to report to the start venue every day to receive a different flag that must be in that days photograph with your m/c. Digital Photos will be accepted as long as they can be downloaded to our computer and be verified.
The dates will be March 2012. The run will be either 6 or 7 days in length.
Dates should be sorted before the next newsletter.
The last ICON TIKI TOUR’s official Hard Ass with the most Icons and Most miles was Rod Coe from Paeroa and we would like to extend to Rod a free run to defend his Hard Ass title. I will be in touch to confirm details when the dates are sorted.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Reminder.... the Long weekend extension run is only open to those whom have completed a Grand Challenge earlier.
If you have BUT you want to bring a mate to that event, their only option is to complete this year’s GC. 2010.
The reason for this qualification is simple; some new riders think these events are easier than they are. We like people to know what they are in for, and are not prepared to take chances with unknown people.

This is an ad for a new exhaust supplier, I have checked out his website but there is no listing for where he is located so I guess if you want his services use the phone number or website. There were a couple of broken links on the website when I was there but I guess these are just teething troubles.
Q.. What do you call a pointless race that covers about 2200 miles across France.
A. The French. ( Is there anyone who likes the French?????)
