Rusty Heroes

In every clubs history there are those who become legends.

They are ones that everyone talks about whenever there is a gathering. Their deeds and actions are what gives every club it's reputation. These are the Rusty's heroes, who by their actions, deeds, sheer guts, maybe a touch of looseness, have earned their place in our history. They are in no particular order.

To those who have heard the stories, here are the men and women behind them and some pictures to help you to relate to them.

Kevin Farrelly

Kevin rode his Ducati F1 750 on grand Challenge. Earning the nickname "Numb Nuts".

Dave Walker

Dave Walker had a wee oops on the '98 Grand Challenge but did he give up - hell no - he earned his page here the hard way.

Goetz Neugebauer

Goetz rode the first scooter entered on any Rusty Nuts Event. He choose the 6300km Southern Cross Road Rally

Ian Blyde

Ian Blyde was the first person to ride a 50cc motorcycle on a Grand Challenge and finish. He finished inside the 24 hour time limit as well. In 2003 he completed the 6300km Southern Cross Road Rall on the same 50cc.

Annette Neugebauer

Nette was the first person to make an attempt on the Grand Challenge on a motor scooter.

Andy King & Cam Smith

The two staunchest Rusty Nuts riders. Cameron has started and completed every Grand Challenge. Andy had a breakdown in number 18 but due to his exceptional record was granted a 2nd run in the company of one of our club members to keep his record intact. The difference now stands at Cameron has completed all his runs "On the Day".

Pink Rusty

Pink Rusty rode himself into the Heroes section on a Honda NSR80 Race Replica Minibike in the 1992 Grand Challenge. The pictures tell the story.

Reg Woods

Reg Woods earned his place here the hard way. He muscled his way in. Never one to do things the easy way Reg took the vehicles less chosen over the road much travelled.

Dave, Gary, Ian, Rod - Tiki tour Riders

The Icon Tiki Tour was the 20th Anniversary run of the Rusty Nuts M/C. These 4 guys were the only 4 to complete the entire run 3 clocking up near to 5000km one clocking 5225km. That was enough to win Rod Coe the trophy on offer for "Most Icons Most Miles"

Reuben and Steve Becker

Reuben and Steve Becker found a new way to get Rusty Hero status. Not one anyone would want to copy I would think. Their efforts captured the essence of the Grand Challenge spirit. They deserve their page here for that.

Jacqui McKee

Jacquo McKee became the 1st woman to complete 10 Grand Challenges.

Super Tour Heroes

The Super Tour. The biggest event the Rusty Nuts M/c has ever put on 10,000km in 10 days, NO REST DAYS. just day after day of riding, riding, riding. So difficult that al the starters have earned their place here as Super Tour Heroes.
