Wild One

The Wild One was probably the most unique rally the Rusty Nuts M/c have ever organised. Held at Pipiriki on the banks of the Whanganui River. To qualify for the badge entrants had a 40 minute jet boat ride up river, a 25 minute walk into the bush to the "Bridge to Nowhere" where they had to ride a small motocycle over the bridge and back. Then retrace their trail walk and jet boat ride back to camp. An awesome event.

The Wild One review - Lee Rusty This article was printed in the Kiwi Rider Magazine in 1992 (not sure which month's issue) written by Lee Rusty the organiser of the event. He has some seriously twisted and outrageous ideas, but they all come off as great rally's. The Wild One's name came from the idea.

Bridge to Nowhere is starting to rust This item appeared in the Hawera Star on May 19 1994. Due to the run Rusty Nuts had held there in 1992 it seems fitting to include it here.
